2017 Five Minute Festival!

Yes, we're back again. The challenge is on again. We are looking for 40 imaginative 5 Minute pieces. So....get creative! All the information you need is on our website at www.stockwellph.com.

What can be achieved in 300 Seconds?

We live in an age when no-one has time.  Average viewers spend 3 to 7 minutes on an internet video.  Advertisers get whole stories into 30 seconds. Hamlet thought brevity the soul of wit, the Japanese that haiku was the highest form of art.

During five nights in November; LOST Theatre will be showcasing forty of the UK’s most talent innovative companies on one stage.

Ten companies per night will battle it out with five minute pieces designed to entertain a sell-out live audience; an industry panel and online viewers at home. Only ten companies can make it to the Grand Final where one will crowned winner.

The artistic content of the Festival will cover a wide range of disciplines within the live, visual arts including dance, theatre, spoken word, poetry, physical theatre, ensemble work and devised work from some of the UK’s most exciting new talents. LOST is committed to ensuring that the Festival has a balanced, inclusive programme to offer something for everyone.

Stockwell Playhouse is a lively theatre and arts hub only ten minutes by public transport from the westend and the heart of central London. Building on the 8 successful years of LOST Theatre, Stockwell Playhouse continues a tradition in producing professional and amateur work, integrating community classes and projects with professional touring work, co-productions and ground breaking new writing.

We strive to create a professional space for our students, practitioners, and company members to work in as well as a comfortable and inviting reception for our audience members . Aside from our programmed work we hold annual festivals, promoting  new writing as well as facilitating directing and acting opportunities.

Our festivals are adjudicated by industry professionals, with participants receiving guidance and advice with selected creatives being awarded bursaries and commissions.

Alongside our theatre space we have rehearsal facilities open to all to meet, rehearse and run classes in both a public and private capacity .
