All Work, No Play
by Awk The Clown
In a country on the verge of doom and murderous clowns on the loose on our cinema screens, Join Awk this October and allow it to show you there’s more to life than work.
After a UK tour, ‘All Work, No Play’ comes to London. Bringing with it joy, loneliness and everything in-between, hoping that maybe someone will like Awk… or even better see Awk’s show!
We all have to work and Awk longs for a better life outside the shackles of mediocrity, but something keeps holding it back. Awk's on the clock, and doesn’t have long until time is up.
‘If you love Awk - and you will love Awk - then in the end, you’re giving yourself permission to love your own fragility too.’ Fringe Guru ****
All Awk wants is to impress you and to be loved but is quite happy if you laugh at Awk, not with it just as long as Awk gets the attention it desperately craves.
Stockwell Playhouse is a lively theatre and arts hub only ten minutes by public transport from the westend and the heart of central London. Building on the 8 successful years of LOST Theatre, Stockwell Playhouse continues a tradition in producing professional and amateur work, integrating community classes and projects with professional touring work, co-productions and ground breaking new writing.
We strive to create a professional space for our students, practitioners, and company members to work in as well as a comfortable and inviting reception for our audience members . Aside from our programmed work we hold annual festivals, promoting new writing as well as facilitating directing and acting opportunities.
Whether it be through our One Act Festival where new work is first staged and forgotten gems are rediscovered or the 5 Minute Festival where we challenge people to produce an entire drama in 300 seconds we strive to create engaging work and support creative exploration. Our festivals are adjudicated by industry professionals, with participants receiving guidance and advice with selected creatives being awarded bursaries and commissions.
Alongside our theatre space we have rehearsal facilities open to all to meet, rehearse and run classes in both a public and private capacity . Our classes and in house collective the LOST company provides a springboard for local young talent to showcase, hone their theatrical skills and create new works with developing writers. Our vibrant venue offers everyone the chance to perform on one of the best fringe spaces in London.
